Good communication is an essential tool in achieving productivity and maintaining strong working relationships at all levels of an organisation – and this has been particularly important since the Covid-19 outbreak forced many people to work remotely. In this session you will be introduced to new ways of communication as you navigate your way through education and eventual employment. The lesson is aimed at being fun, productive and instilling a sense of what is to be expected of you as a future professional.

During this session, we will get you to explore what you enjoy and use this to research a range of online careers information resources.
You will then have the opportunity to draw up your personalised career action plan, before being set a competition activity which you will complete in your own time. The winner of this competition will receive £100 to spend with an Amazon voucher.

Having attended the Career Detective session, your task is to go away research a particular career that interests you. The Sixth Form Bolton, would then like you to produce an artefact that relates to the career you have chosen. For example, you may produce a short video, a newspaper article, a leaflet, a poster, a short story, a poem, a webpage, or an idea of your own. The artefact can be based in fact or fiction, so for example – you could create an information piece about the career you have chosen, or you may create a piece which describes you doing this job in the future. Whatever you decide, let your creativity run wild as the next artefact that is submitted will win £100 to spend at Amazon!

Join Lancaster University in a highly informative and interactive session about university life.
Lancaster University rank in the top 10 of the UK’s university league tables and are keen to share with you more information about the many benefits of studying at degree level as well as what to expect from the student experience.
There will be quizzes, activities and the chance to ask lots of questions.
We will be asking students to take part using their mobile phones or a separate device to what they are accessing the session on. If students do not have a second device it’s not a problem they will be able to use one device it’s just easier on two devices.
